![]() Healthy Maple Oat Muffins(18 servings) Printable Version
Prepare 18 regular-sized muffin cups with a thin coating of cooking spray. In a large bowl, sift the flours with the baking powder and salt. Add the oats and mix well. In a separate bowl, mix together the canola oil, applesauce and sugar. Add the applesauce mixture to the dry ingredients. Add the milk and maple syrup. Stir all until just combined and moistened. Fill each muffin cup about 3/4 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean (no batter). An egg-free recipe with a dense healthy texture and lots of good maple flavor. Mr Breakfast would like to thank KennyRogers for this recipe. Recipe number 1998. Submitted 2/26/2007.

Made them today. Tasted great and had a good texture. The sugar does worry me too. I will make them again though! Comment submitted: 9/7/2011 (#12886) From cooking n00b Using a calorie count recipe analysis - it should be 171 calories per muffin. Comment submitted: 2/12/2010 (#9699) From Healthy Mom I hesitate to make it as is seems to have alot of sugar, what with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup syrup. What is the calorie count per muffin? Tried it last evening. It came out good but I forgot to spray the muffin cups with cooking spray hence had a problem peeling them off. Otherwise it was great. Comment submitted: 3/1/2007 (#1690) You Might Also Like These Recipes:
