Garlic Cheese Grits

Garlic Cheese Grits
(4 servings)    Printable Version

  • 1 cup of uncooked grits (not instant)
  • 2 6-ounce packages of Kraft garlic cheese spread (it is sold in a package that looks like a sausage link)
  • a dash of Tabasco
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 lb. of margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
Prepare the grits according to the package directions. Melt cheese with the butter. Stir in the grits. In a small bowl, beat the eggs and the milk. Stir eggs into the grits. Pour into a lightly greased casserole dish and bake at 300 degrees for 40 minutes. Top with grated cheddar and return to oven until the cheese is melted.

Garlic for breakfast? You bet! The girl I got this from said that her family has this for Christmas brunch every year. Give me Christmas brunch every day I say.
