Ham Waffles

Ham Waffles

(4 servings)    Printable Version
  • 2 cups flour - sifted
  • 1 cup smoked Ham - uncooked and diced
  • 1 and 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 egg yolks - well beaten
  • 2 egg Whites - stiffly beaten
  • 1/3 cup butter - melted
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Makes 4 man-sized servings.

Sift flour once, measure, add baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar, and sift once more.

In a sepearate bowl, combine egg yolks, milk, and butter. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and beat until smooth. Fold in egg whites.

Bake on a hot waffle iron. Sprinkle 1/4 cup ham over batter of each waffle just before closing iron. Makes four 4-section waffles.


Serve with soft scrambled eggs on each waffle for the perfect effect.
