Australian Fruit Stew

Australian Fruit Stew

(8 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 honeydew - balled or cubed into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cantaloup - balled or cubed into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 large apples - cored and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 large oranges - peels and sectioned
  • 2 bananas - sliced into thick coins
  • 2 cups green seedless grapes
  • 1 cup of your favorite Spring/Summer berries
  • 1 small container of vanilla yogurt (or your favorite flavor) - For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 and 1/2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange blossom water (usually in the ethnic section of the grocery)
  • 1/4 teaspoon rose water
That's a lot of stuff. But the directions are pretty easy. Toss everything except for the honey and yogurt into a large bowl (you can use your serving bowl if you like). Gently stir so that all the fruit gets soaked in liquid, but careful not to tear up the fruit pieces.

When well mixed, drizzle honey over the bowl while stirring one last time.

Serve with a Tablespoon of yogurt per serving (you can use low-fat whipped cream if you have no yogurt).

A smorgasboard of wonderful fruits in a bowl. Perfect for a healthy brunch. I hope you like it!
