Chocolate Chip Waffles

(6 servings)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 and 2/3 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, chocolate chips, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add the eggs, milk and butter and stir until just combined and moistened.

Cook waffles according to the directions for your waffle maker.

Serve immediately with syrup while waffles are still warm.


Making Chocolate Chip Waffles


Cooking Tips:

For best results, avoid over-mixing when you mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. The batter may be slightly lumpy. You'll get more tender waffles this way.

If needed, vegetable oil or canola oil can replace the melted butter in this recipe.
