Kahi (Iraq)

(1 serving)

  • 4 sheets of store-bought fillo dough
  • 2 Tablespoons butter - softened
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
This recipe is for only one serving, but it can be easily mutiplied.

Brush each of the fillo sheets with butter and stack them.

Fold the stack two or three times to create a rectangle the size of your palm. Brush this with butter and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake according to directions on the fillo dough.

Remove from oven. Drizzle generously with honey and serve.

This is a simple variation on a classic Jewish Babylonian puffed pastry. It is often enjoyed in Iraq at breakfast time.
