Bad service and bland food. Second time here and will not come back- there are better places to eat.

Let's talk about service. First, I got my biscuits with a dirty plate with food stains on. Second, I got a togo box with pieces of salsa on top. And last but not least, I felt tricked by the price. My son ordered a "Jr. Waffle for $2.95, try it with cherry or blueberry topping" , and when the check came, they had charged me an additional $1.95 for the topping. I pointed out to them that there was nowhere on the kids menu that stated the topping would cost extra. No price. No asterisk referring you to the fine print below. Actually, no fine print at all. Nothing.

So word of advice - beware if you decide to go here. The owner's attitude was pretty much "too bad you felt tricked, there's nothing I can do for you."

I had breakfast here on the 23 of december and yes there was a wait to get in. Restaurant was very busy. When we sat down we were impressed with the fact that they say the grind there coffee. Sure didn't taste that way. Food was very bad no flavor the bacon was burned. Forks and knives were dirty. Not impressed with the service at all.

I love the service, quality and prices at the Breakfast Club. I teach at a school in Menifee and rountinely stop to buy breakfast for myself and other teachers. The food is wonderful and it is made quickly and hot when I get to school. The portions are generous and often reheat well for lunch or breakfast the next day. I also LOVE the peppermint tea with honey. The best items on the menu are the South of the Border Omlette, Breakfast bowl and the greatest deal ever The One.

The only downsides are the size of the tea cups, I wish they had a venti size available to go. They have said that if I bring my own to go cup they will put the tea in that cup. I also wish they had muffins for others a work.

I hope you enjoy the breakfast as much as I do.

First of all, you shouldn't expect 4 star dining at a diner (I've had those experiences, but I certainly don't expect them). Considering that, I tempered this review for the expectations one should exhibit towards a typical 'blue-hair' dinner, one neither hip nor trendy. I don't expect a diner to use fresh ingredients, for instance, or to offer any clever cuisine to challenge the pallet. I really just expect hearty, home cooking where the food is served hot, and the portions are not more than you could eat, but definitely more than you should eat.
My experience is commensurate with the many reviewers who had a bad experience at this establishment. The range of the reviews is broad; I guess you either like it or hate it, and it probably depends on when you arrive as to what you'll experience. I ate at the Breakfast Club on a Sunday morning, during a busy period, which was, admittedly, a poor choice. The Breakfast Club is probably a better diner during the week, when it's not so busy.
I think that the prices were right on- the most expensive item on the menu were the Angus steak and eggs at around $13, so no complaints there.
The coffee tasted like typical diner coffee; weak, and slightly sour and bitter. No surprises there, either. I thought it funny that the menu specifically calls out the fact that their coffee beans are freshly roasted and ground before every pot is brewed. The server brought out a couple of buttermilk biscuits before we ordered, and they were hot, fluffy, and very nice.
Though the restaurant itself is clean, I found dirty utensils and plates during service. The plate on which my breakfast was served was shiny with a thin film of grease, highlighted by several sets of fingerprints so-well defined that I could have photographed them and sent them to the local authorities for identification.
I ordered the chicken-fried steak and eggs, scrambled. The food arrived in an acceptable amount of time, but at room temperature (the plates were also cold). The eggs were rubbery and presented an unsettling yellow color, obviously not made from fresh eggs--or if they were, they were cooked for an unbelievably long time, then served cold. The steak was mushy and not crisply fried, then covered with a apparently powdered then reconstituted 'gravy' which more closely resembled an industrial adhesive rather than food.
Most interesting was that the cubed steak used for the dish maintained a certain smoky quality. It wasn't a sweet and complex smoke that could be developed through careful manipulation of temperature using controlled burning of hardwoods. It had the smoky quality of having (seemingly) survived an electrical fire near the walk-in storage units. Really disturbing.
My sister-in-law tried the Baja omelet. This omelet is a poor idea which was then executed poorly. Served cold (the cheese sprinkled on top still maintained their tiny, cubed-shapes), yet having been over-cooked.
I guess the worst part was that my father-in-law had invited the family their because he had a good first experience. No one at the table wanted to complain and make him feel bad, but nobody ate more than a couple bites.

It was fantastic. I've been reading some of these other reviews and I'm shocked and cannot believe these people actually ate at the same place. Perhaps there have been changes recently since I just ate there last Saturday. In any case, the food and service were terrific. We loved it.

The food is absolutely delicious. The Mediterranean Omelette is our favorite. Unfortunately there other local Menifee restaurants that have done their best to post as many negative comments about the restaurant on every possible venue that they could find. I say try it. If you don't like it, don't go back. ...but don't let underhanded tactics stray you away from good food:)

It is obvious when the owner writes his own reviews. He has to listen to what his customers are complaining about. The food is so bad but they are not owning up to thier responsibilities and seems that they are blaming the customers for not liking thier terrible food. The owners wife is downright rude when we asked for something to be replaced. She didnt apologize and just walked away.Food, customer service, and atmoshere by owners and employees is a definate negative. I will not give it another chance. It just gets worse. I thought they just had to work out kinks, but they are the kinks who are not willing to make a change, Sorry in Menifee!:(

Breakfast Club of Menifee

With an economy of dinning choices here in the Menifee Valley, my wife and I were very excited to find out Menifee was getting a new restaurant. The Breakfast Club of Menifee opened this July helping to fill the restaurant void in the area. Since most new business need some time to work out the bugs, we waited until this Labor Day to give them a try. We went in excited and with tummies rumbling. And unfortunately we left disappointed and very hungry.

Please note that we really wanted to enjoy our experience at The Breakfast Club, but every time we tried their service and food just got in the way. Maybe it’s partly our fault I wondered as we sat, waiting for anyone to bring us more coffee. When you opt to sit on the patio you hope to be treated with the same amount of attention as the customers on the inside. But what usually happens more often than not, you become designated second class citizens, and unfortunately that is what happened to us. We became the forgotten. Begging for coffee, tapping on the window like orphans panhandling for food, and having to stand up and flag down anyone that would help us.

When the waitress arrived she was very pleasant, well mannered and ready to take our orders. But this being our first experience at the Breakfast Club we had a few questions. Unfortunately the waitress had no answers. She didn’t even know some of the basic ingredients of common items. But we were not going to let that sully our experience so we ordered up two omelets with Breakfast Club potatoes, with one special request, that they put the hollandaise sauce on the side. For those not familiar, hollandaise is a French sauce most commonly associated with Eggs Benedict. I’ve had good hollandaise and bad hollandaise, and when it’s bad it’s really bad, so not wanting my omelet anointed with the stuff before I sampled it, we went out of our way to ask that it be on the side. Twenty minutes, and no coffee refills later, what was set in front of us? You guessed it. Two omelets covered in hollandaise sauce.

After sampling the sauce, we both concluded that it was of a kind that did not agree with either of us. So still wanted to enjoy our Breakfast Club experience we decided to just scrap it off. After wiping the forks clean we dived into our omelets, very hungry, and still excited. It took me at least two bites to realize that the chef at the Breakfast Club depends quite a lot on the hollandaise sauce for not only flavor but apparently moistness. These flavorless omelets were as dry as the Sahara desert, and maybe if I could have gotten some coffee I could have managed more than three bites of the dry, barren, overcooked, egg-slab. My wife faired a little better, managing almost five bites before she tossed her fork down and cried, “Uncle.”

So we sat there for near twenty-five minutes, waiting for our waitress to come by and ask how the food was. She never did. In fact we never saw her again, and no one asked how we enjoyed our food. Even the other waitress who picked up our plates that had just as much food on them as when they were brought out, didn’t ask us how our food was. Even the owner, Stu, who came out to apologize for the service, or lack of service, didn’t ask why we had just sent back two full plates of his food. He just apologized for the service (which we did not complain about), gave us the bill for the food we did not eat, and left. The person who ran my credit card, and only made eye contact with me to make sure that my face matched the one on my drivers license, didn’t ask how the food was, if fact she barley spoke at all.

I can only conclude that the reason they don’t ask that question, is that the answer they get is not very positive. I hope that isn’t the case. I hope that our experience was uncommon for The Breakfast Club of Menifee because even after all that we went through my wife and I still want to like the place. She is willing to give it another shot. I’m more hesitant. I will say that they serve a fantastic fresh squeezed orange juice and a really decent cup of Joe – if you can get someone to bring it to you. But neither beverage is worth a return trip.

Wow... a combination of a classy joint and a family friendly breakfast restaurant. It reminds you of a dinner restaurant because of the table cloths and atmosphere but has white butcher paper on top of table cloths so kids can draw.

As soon as you sit down a server brings you free biscuits, butter, and 2 kinds of jelly.

The portions are huge and the breakfast club potatoes are outstanding. They have unique great tasting omelets, fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices and apple cinnamon and banana fosters pancakes to die for. The sausages are huge and bacon thicker than a silver dollar.

TV news all over and get this... a full service cappuccino bar for the restaurant or to go. As in any breakfast restaurant the coffee needs to be perfect and this passes that test easily.

They also have a Breakfast Club Of Menifee Coffee Club you can join and for $25.00 you get a personalized logo mug, ID Card with picture, and free drip coffee for a year with NO srings attached. NO limits either and you don't have to buy anything to eat to claim your free coffee!!

Don't drink coffee than they have 10 different loose leaf teas that come to the table in a steeping hot stainless and glass pitcher.

Classy yes, expensive no. Cheaper than a Denny's or I-Hop.
