The food at this establishment is fine but they do not treat their employees very fairly so we will not ever eat here again.

The Express Cafe has been a personal self treat of mine for years. With somewhat of a restricted income I can not frequent as often as I thought I would like. This morning I got the greatest disappointment. I ordered the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, 1 egg and 1 sausage patty. Their once large fluffy home made biscuits have been replaced by what is obviously frozen ready to cook, the gravy and the taste of something from a can, mix or bag. the egg was just an egg. The sausage patty was so disgusting that it left a horrible after taste in my mouth, 40 min later ( I timed it) at home I still had this nasty taste of something rotten in my mouth... All in all it was the 2nd worst breakfast I have had in the Boise Valley to date. Not to be outdone by the time I went to the Trolley house and they were out of everything and what they did have was minuscule. and cold. It is sad that the Express Cafe like so many others (Star Cafe, Rockies) has resorted to fast and cheap instead of good and quality. I doubt very much I will be back. - i

Good breakfast menu. Consistently satisfying breakfast. Worth the wait. Take a look at your plate -- no greasy spoon here (even our "picky" out of town family members -- who dine out a lot -- are super impressed that there is hardly a trace of grease under either hash browns or eggs). Unless you like a lot of cheese on your omelettes, need to request "light on the cheese"; and have had cheese "globbed" together in one area of omelette. Seems very well managed under watchful eye of manager (owner?).

We have been going to Express for over a year now! The owner and waitresses are ALWAYS friendly! It's a "family" atmosphere..not to mention GREAT FOOD and a reasonable price! The waitresses always make you feel welcome and it's a great "small town" cafe. If you haven't been there yet~ you need to try it...but beware, there is usually a line to get in.worth the WAIT!!

if you like a greasy spoon than this is your place.. i sat a the counter and no one said hello or anything. my food came and i was very disapointed.

Local small independant Breakfast/Lunch joint. Old place with character. Good food, fair prices, Clean and Fresh. Has a small counter and a dining room. This is the local place you would expect to find "Flo or Alice", along with the locals. Great Place to experience "Small Town America". A must visit, while in Meridian.
