For authentic Mexican cooking this is the place to be!!! Manuel Rojas opened his restaurant in 1957 and he has seen generations upon generations of local families grow up right before his eyes. He still makes the rounds at the tables making sure to greet everyone like a guest in his home. They are known for their burritos like the "Hollenbeck Burrito" or the "Manuel Special" which is like two Hollenbeck's in one! A couple of breakfast specialties are the Kiko's special which is two cheese enchiladas smothered in guacamole with two fried eggs on top, or the machaca plate which is stewed shredded beef and serious green chilies. Be prepared to wait in line on Sundays as the church across the street brings a hefty crowd immediately following mass. It is located on North Evergreen Avenue, a side street from the main street, Cesar Chavez (formerly called Brooklyn). The restaurant has an indoors and outdoors area.
