I wrote a review about this place a while ago and recently read someone's response to the negative reviews:

"Do what I do if someone is crabby ask them if you have done something that upset them. Most of the time they dont even realize that their mood is not so great. If it was women writing about the service being crabby shame on you imagine what you do in a day and then put owning a business in this economy on top of everything else. "

Really??? It's my job, as a customer, to manage my waitresses mood??? I am a paying customer and because I am a woman we have to 'stick together'? In my opinion, "in this economy" businesses have to work harder to earn my business. I DON'T go out to eat as much because of the expense and I certainly don't want to waste my time being treated badly and eating mediocre food.

I stick by my previous review and say this place has the worst service EVER! Never going back.

Never going back. I am embarrassed for them. Bad food, dirty glass, poor service = unhappy customer. Even underneath the table was sticky. Yuck.

I live in a nearby city and had been waiting for the opportunity to visit this place. I have been so curious because the ratings are either really bad or really good. That's what I hear from people around here too, it's either: "I love that place!" or "Don't bother!" I wanted to see for myself and keep an open mind.

I hate to say it, but the bad impressions are pretty right on. The food is okay, ehh, just okay. Better than a Denny's or Perkins. Not by much. They use a fake oil on their hashbrowns that make them taste bitter. I have been in other restaurants that do that too. Just very off-putting flavor.

The worst part of the meal is the service. I think the staff members really hate their jobs, or the management, or their hours, or whatever and take it out on the customers. The service was the WORST I have ever had, ever.

The vibe in the place is very cold. I got the impression that nobody really liked each other, or wanted to be there.

If the food had been phenomenal, I could possibly overlook the terrible service. But the combination of the two are just unbearable, for me.

There must be some that like it, otherwise they would not have been in that location for as long as they have. On the other hand, there were no long lines, or even people waiting for a table, like they do in other popular places I have been too. It's a mystery to me!!!

Wow! I finally got to eat at this place. I pass it all the time our way 'Up North' to our friends cabin. When we leave early, it's nice to stop and eat somewhere. There are so many good reviews I thought I would give it a try. I love local places that are not chains. Usually they have so much more personality. I have to say I am not sure why there are any good reviews about this place. But I have to agree with the negative reviews on here about the service. The service is really terrible. I did feel like we were an imposition to the waitress, she was very terse and came off as extremely unfriendly. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I wanted to run screaming! How was the food? I really can't tell you, the (very grumpy) poor service overshadowed the entire meal experience.

If I could give any restaurant one piece of advice, it would be this: "Invite me into your restaurant as if it were your home and I was your honored guest. Offer me something to drink right away.Make me feel like you are delighted and happy to have me in your home. Thank me for coming."

Maybe the people working don't like their jobs. I don't know what the reason is. But the owner should do something before it's too late. We won't be back.

I officially will never, ever go back here even though I live less than a mile away. I was meeting a friend for breakfast on Sunday and this place was open 30 minutes earlier than another local establishment, so we decided to go to Lindas'. BAD choice. We got there about 5 minutes before the place was supposed to open. I was surprised that nobody was even in the restaurant yet. I thought this was a bad sign. We decided to wait for a bit to see if anyone even showed up. About 6 minutes after the hour one of the owners and a cook showed up. I was shocked that they were not even ready for business (primarily a breakfast place) No grills heating up, no prepping being done, no coffee being brewed. We had to wait 15 minutes to get our first cup of coffee! If we had known this beforehand we would have just gone somewhere else. The food was okay, not great. We seemed more like an imposition to the waitress/owner. Someone else reviewed, "How nice can you be when you are sooooo busy." Well, we were the only people in the place and she was STILL rude. When we were leaving, there were only 3 tables of customers. They are not SO BUSY that they don't have time to be civil to customers. If I have to say, "Excuse me, could I get another cup of coffee when you have a moment?" Then see the waitress roll her eyes, sigh heavily, and stomp around. Perhaps she is not in the right business.

I frequent Linda's not only for their outstanding breakfast's but for their dinner fare. In particular, the broasted chicken. If you've never had broasted chicken you should have it at Linda's. After you do, no one else's will compare. The chicken in crispy on the outside and juicy and favorful on the inside. I would go there more often for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday if I didn't have to wait for a table. That should tell ya something folks. A hometown diner in a sort of strip shopping mall tucked behind a freeway with a lenghy wait for a table on weekends. If the tough folks of Rogers, St. Michael and other surrounding towns are willing to wait for a table for Linda's melt in your mouth pancakes they must be doing something right. I have tried to get Linda herself to give up the secret to those fluffy pancakes to no avail. Maybe one day she'll give it up.

Linda's cafe is the best around the twin cities. I recommend to everyone who comes to town. The service and the quality of the food is the BEST.
You will not be disappointed. I take clients, business associates, friends, and family their frequently.

Thank you Linda & Linda for the great service and food.

Come on, you all must have interests in perkins/dennys. I worked in bars/restaurants for 15 years and could see that service and food was top notch right away. What's polite enough for you in that fast paced environment? Go to a bland breakfast chain so I don't have to listen to you grouse at the next table.

Hi Everyone,

I heard about Linda's Cafe through friends. The food is truly wonderful as a matter of fact Diner's,Drive-In's and Dive's on the food channel should do a piece on Linda's Cafe. A family run business can have it's difficulties so to the child that has the mom as one of the owners. Kiddo you have every right to be very proud of your mom, her business partner and everyone else in your family that works there. I have been in there about 10 times and every time the food was excellent and the service was above average. Cut these women a break owning a business in todays economy is very tough especially the restuarant business. Do what I do if someone is crabby ask them if you have done something that upset them. Most of the time they dont even realize that their mood is not so great. If it was women writing about the service being crabby shame on you imagine what you do in a day and then put owning a business in this economy on top of everything else. I know its not an excuse for bad service however lets stick together not pull eachother apart.
Good Luck and God Bless Linda's Cafe.

We enjoyed our first visit to Linda's Cafe.We went there at 10:10 am on Sunday. Perfect time, got a table right away. A line formed at about 10:30 am. We thought it was better then a Perkings/Denny's type resturant but not the best we ever had. We weren't impressed with the customer service. Everyone seemed to be crabby. It was even obvious to our 4 year old daughter.Who asked why our waitress didn't say Thank you. The food was good. 1 meal was excellent and the other was ok. We will go back but if the service isn't any better...we won't go back a 3rd time.
Thank you!

I guess it is true what they say, if someone has a bad expierence at a restaurant they will feel the need to tell the whole world but if they have a good service they keep it to themselves. My family and I have been to Linda's several times for breakfast, always on Sunday mornings. Considering how incredibly busy Linda's is (amazing considering the two previous reveiws) we have always had wonderful service and have always enjoyed our meals. Like any new business Linda's had its kinks to work out but they have definitely found their groove. They provide exceptional service even if your kids are creating a scene!

Founded by two women named Linda, this restaurant misses the mark entirely on price, food quality and especially service. Staking their fame on plate-sized pancakes that are drier than day old bread and ham and Minnesota wild rice omlettes with processed 'swiss' cheese all microwaved to perfection. Oh and did I mention the crabby waitress who will unwelcome you during your entire visit. You will feel like you spent the morning at your inlaws.
