I moved away in 1998 and still dream about the pancakes!! Especially the ones with toasted wheat germ.....OMG the best!! I have never tasted any better.

Been going here for years...great servers, (almost no turnover(),great owners, high standards for cleanliness, consistent food...always rockin' busy. Ask anyone in town about the Egg & I and they'll tell you how good they are. Don't be fooled by bogus reviews from competitors (Mc***'s). They should focus on their own business. This place has set the standard for great breakfast in our town for almost 30 yrs.

i got everything i wanted in breakfast! lots of coffee and a fluffy belgian waffle, fresh strawberries and no whipped cream with a side of an egg and sausage. they came in patties- much better than the greasy little weiners you get sometimes

Terrible odor permeated the place - rotten food. 20 minute wait for a table, inadequate waiting area. Floors, tables, and walls were filthy. Coffee was only warm. Food took 25 minutes to be served, and was barely warm. Seemed like all the waitresses were in training, and were dressed like slobs. I went there on the recommendation of this website, unfortunately. I'll try 10 other places before I go there again, it was such a disgusting experience. Beginning to think the owners stuffed the ballot box on this one.

I have had a terrible experience each visit at this place. THREE times I found a hair cooked into my food. Seems very dirty and I have known people who work here and they express the filth in the kitchen. No more The egg, The HAIR and I for me!

I do like there menu selection and they have room for meetings. They leave a pot of coffee on the table so you can drink as much as you want. They have a senior discount which always helps. It is a comfortable place.

We need and Egg & I in the mountains,please reply.

We are in the process of designing a mixed use project in downtown Avon Colorado. Our project site is 7 miles west of Vail and at the base of Beaver Creek Resort. The redevelopment of East Avon is starting to take shape and we currently own 2 parcels totaling 2.5 acres on the proposed East Main Street. The preliminary plan calls for 350,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, condo/hotel (approx 100 keys), commercial and an 800 car parking structure. We also have a 2 acre parcel under contract on East Main Street as well. Ground breaking is scheduled for August 2007 with a 16-18 month construction timeline. I have heard nothing but great things about this restaurant (and not only from the owners' daughter, Abby, who is my roommate.) The ambience, staff, and food are all fantastic. It's such a delicious restaurant and I hope to see more of them "hatching up" around the country soon!
