Absolutely one of the worst places I have ever been to. The service was very slow despite the fact that they were not busy. It took more than 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. I ordered bacon and eggs. My wife had french toast. My food came out long before my wife's. As a result, I was finished eating before my wife even received her food. The place was dirty, the food was terrible. Bacon was over cooked to the point that it crumbled like bacon bits. I don't know how anyone can screw up breakfast but Pogo's II sure managed to do that. It took another 20 minutes to receive our check after the waitress cleared the table. Needless to say, we will never go back. Its a dump with bad food and even worse service.

this pertains to the restaurant in e. bridgewater. heard raves about this place online(even the phantom gourmet),therefore, i couldn't wait to experience breakfast at pogo's. i wished i had waited--what a letdown. it started with dirty silverware and lipstick on coffee mug and then went downhill. the hash was super salty and slightly burnt. the scrambled eggs were rubbery and everything seemed as though heated in a microwave. i could go on, but all i can say is i paid thirty dollars and drove way out of my way for something i could have gotten down the street from my house--only it would have tasted good and been about half the price. moral of the story: take phantom gourmet reviews with a big grain of salt.

Pogos II on Route 58 in Halifax is no longer in existence, it closed it's doors in May of 2009.

This is the BEST breakfast place. The food is delicious, the menu for breakfast is extensive and the portions are huge. I had the pumpkin pancakes and only asked for 2 instead of 4 and couldn't finish them. They were spiced nicely and you could taste the pumpkin, delicious. My co-diner had blueberry cheesecake pancakes (yes cheesecake) they came with melty cheesecake oozing out of the 3 absolutely huge pancakes that were loaded with blueberries and topped with a cinnamon crumb. This is definately our new breakfast place.

I love the food at Pogos, but when the owner is not onsite the service is far to slow.

I went there recently on a Thursday which is a day that the owner Leslie is usually not onsite. After waiting 40+ minutes for my pancakes, I asked the waitress how much longer. She informed me that the kitchen was backed up.

There were only 4 tables occupied and two tables had been waiting for more than 30 minutes for their food. When the food did arrive, it was excellent.

They know how to make good food but I have a feeling they do not know how to run a efficient kitchen. Maybe then need more cooks. Something needs to change.

If you go with 4 people, the food will not come out together. There may be 15 to 20 minutes between when the first person at your table get's their food and the fouth person receives their food.

I would stil recommend the restaurant, but I have to warn you. Do not go if you a short on time.

I went for breakfast this morning first time. Sat myself at the counter adn a young kid greeted me very nicely. I was pleased actually for a young kid to actually be very aware and courtious. I ordered the Bene Dublin. Huge amount of food for sure. As far as the taste everything was really great the homemade hash was a bit heavy on the onions but just my opinion. I asked for crispy on the hash and got it! Coffee seemed a bit bitter but I am a coffee critic in my own mind. Menu looked very good and I will definately go again. You get more than what you expect and pay for. I think the atmosphere was average and kudos to free wi-fi that was awesome! Im getting the Kale Soup next time for sure! Ill change my rating in time Im sure!

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. We decided to try Pogos's due to the review we saw on Phantom Gourmet. We went to the restuarant today around 11:15. We sat at the counter and were never greated by a waitress. We waited, and waited patiently for the staff of what appeared to be 5 16 old stood still, stared and to space and even occasionally looked right at us but chose not to offer us a coffee, a friendly hello I'll be right with you - a menu -- nothing at all. After 20 minutes one waitress came to the table next to us. Sensing my glare, she looked up at our family seated at the counter and said "oh would you like, um, menus or something". Since I couldn't tell her what I would have liked her to do with the menu at the point (my small children were there with us) I walked out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. The promise of good food was not worth dealing with the staff at this restuarant. I will never go back.

We are pleased that Pogo's has seen the light and abandoned their attempt at operating a family restaurant in Halifax. Perhaps they can hire better waiters and waitresses in East B'Water than they had before, goodness knows they surely needed them. While they are at it, maybe they'll hire a new cook as well. Also, Banditos NEVER reviews restaurants on the same day as we patronize them, Anonymous Breakfast Lover. We take time to consider our opinions carefully. We have indeed eaten at said eatery three times.(3 times too many!)

The review by Banditos is just such BS. Did you notice during your recent visit that Pogo's II was GONE from that location? Guess not, ha? Just proves you never went there in the first place! You may have an axe to grind, but you have absolutely zero credibility. I have been travelling more than 40 miles from my house about once a month for YEARS to feast on the marvelous, unique offerings at Pogo's II. My personal favorite are the Bluebeery Cheesecake Pancakes, which I would say compare favorably with any pancakes I've had in my 57 years on this planet! The service is not as fast as Mickey D's (Bandito's favorite) but that's OK. I like my food cooked fresh!!
