Great diner atmosphere and decor. The waitstaff hustles quite a bit and does a good job.

Food is very good with a broad selection. The omlettes are good with a wide variety of fillings, but not the best in town (hence the Very Good rather than Awesome rating).

On the downside, expect to wait outside standing on line (summer, rain or shine) for a table on weekends.

The Bluebird has made an art of making breakfast. Their pancakes are second only to Homemade in Berkeley. IMO, this is the best restaurant in the entire city!

I adore this place. The menu is absolutely huge and includes loads of breakfast, brunch and early lunch items. Their build-an-omelet is great (especially with hot sausage, mushrooms and lots of cheese!), as are their silver dollar pancakes and banana pancakes.

The waiters are super busy, but always have a smile for you. You can go with a big group, or sit at the counter.

On weekends this place is super-popular and you may need to wait in line for at least half an hour, but it will be worth it. It is much less full on weekdays.
