Pancakes are very good, the rest of the breakfast items are average at best.

There is always a wait. On the weekend the length of wait is beyond reasonable (1 hour +).

Accepting only cash is not reasonable for a chain restaurant.

Not allowing you to bring drinks from outside is also not reasonable, especially considering the wait time (isn't it o.k. for me to drink my latte while I wait?)

The 49er flapjacks are the best thing on the menu, even better than the fantastic Dutch Baby.

Have been eating here for many years, and I accept all the quirks - cash only, often indifferent servers - because the food is simply the best! Everything I've ever eaten here is terrific, but my favorite would have to be the 49-er pancakes. Go early or, if you can, on weekdays, to avoid the wait. But it's well worth it.

10 years ago I waited tables here. I will never forget my experience learning the ins and outs of serving up a real, homemade breakfast. It's amazing how many items most people wouldn't even recognize-that are made from scratch in this place. Even the whipped cream is homemade. This will always be my favorite breakfast place-even with the quirks that come with it like no credit cards. It's well worth the walk to the ATM machine across the street! My favorite dish: the dutch baby. Although, everything is super yummy. I've traveled to other Original Pancake Houses and after visiting seven of them this one is still the best!

Our family has been coming here for breakfast for many years-we believe it is one of the best in the Valley. Great pancakes, great meats, great egss dishes-the menu covers it all! Their potato pancakes are among the best ever and their sourdough pancakes (the 49ers) are out of this world. There is a wait but it is worth it!

At first, we were just happy it was still there, after going to two other places first. Be prepared for a wait - ours was half an hour. The food was delicious, but our waiter was quite surly. We'll only go back if we can't find anywhere else in town for a decent breakfast.

Best pancakes ever (blueberry, strawberry & especially the Dutch Apple). Ron's Southwest Eggs and the corned beef hash are great too!
Bring cash, they don't accept credit cards!!!
