As a Pedro local I have been going to the "diner" for over 40 years and it just keeps getting better! The waitress'es are awsome, my grandchildren are treated with special care and love, our coffee and other beverages are on the table before we even sit down! The portions are large and delish, the Chile Verde and Acapulco omlettes (with loads of fresh pico salsa) are mouth watering! For those raters who gave the diner a low rating, you must have been there on a extemely rare off day.... sorry, but you should try again.

This place is awesome!! Disregard the bad reviews, I've yet to have something there I don't like! Like previously mentioned, you gotta try the salsa! My favorite thing is the chicken cutlet and eggs breakfast. A bit on the pricey side, but you definitely won't leave hungry. The waitresses are awesome and totally friendly. I've been going there for years and they must like it there because I've been seeing the same faces forever! Highly recommend this place, but definitely go early to beat the crowds!

Pacific Diner is our families favorite breakfast spot and has been for over 20 years!! In fact we are going there today. Best biscuits and gravy we have yet to find and the beef stroganoff omelets, amazing. They do get busy so go early. The waitresses really hustle to make sure you are taken care of and treated like a regular.

I have eaten here a couple of times, tried to give it another chance, but won't be returning! Food was just okay nothing special. I must say that our waitress was great but the hostess was about as friendly as a cold stone! Rex's is better and has super friendly people!

let me just say that the owner of Pacific Diner was the most miserable, unfriendly person i have ever encountered at a restaurant! My eggs and potatoes were undercooked and when i asked the waitress to have it thrown on the grill a while longer she came back and told me that "Paula" said if i didn't like the food i could leave! None the less, i would never return!!!

I am a native San Pedro guy who moved to Washington State 22 years ago but I do visit San Pedro about once a year.
A trip to SP isn't complete without having breakfast at the Pacific Diner.
Ignore the negative comments. The food is AWESOME and the service is friendly.
I always seem to recognize someone from my past whenever I go there. What a great place that is so San Pedro!

I love this place. It's considered a "diner" so don't expect an upscale environment. But the place is perfect for it's location along the coast. The food is a liitle on the pricey side depending on what you order. I find the food just presentable but very tasty. The quality of meal isn't always up to the same standard. I don't know why that is. But overall, it's very good. Make sure to ask for the two different salsas with your breakfast (yummy). The salsa to me makes all the difference. The coffee isn't the greatest tasting, but they do keep it coming. The wait staff is friendly and they do hustle. Although sometimes when it's really busy, you might not see your waitress for quite a while, but the others will step in if you wave them over. Another reviewer was right, it gets crowded on the weekends and seems to fill up right around 9:30 and after. Earlier is better. If you think "keep it simple and basic" you shouldn't be disappointed.

My family has been coming to this funky little place for decades for FABULOUS breakfasts & lunches... Servers are always friendly... and the other customers are usually very chatty... Lots of 'locals' eat here... My favorite breakfast is "The John Wayne" (my mouth is watering just thinking about it...) BTW... After reading the negative comments from one or two of the reviewers below, I feel it necessary to say that if you are the type who must have a 'traditional' restaurant atmosphere, such as in the 'chains'...This place is probably not for you...

This place was highly recommended to me by a local San Pedro friend. Unfortunately, I wasn't the least bit impressed. I found the place kind of dirty, the waitress couldn't hardly be bothered to take our order, let alone ask if we needed anything else, and the food was pretty greasy. The coffee was below average. I guess a lot of locals hang out here, but I don't see the interest, quality or any charm at all.
Glad I know what this place is about now. No one really cared if we enjoyed our food or if we'd ever return again. Pretty boring overall. I don't understand what all the great reviews are about.

This is a great place for breakfast, at a very decent price. The drawback is that it does get crowded, like any good breakfast place. Overall, this place can't be beat for the location, price, and quality of food. Give it a try!

We love going out to breakfast to little "holes in the wall" but probably will not go back to Pacific Diner; could not figure out why there are 4 or 5 hostesses who stood around talking with each other while people had to wait extended times to be seated; service was very slow and menu was pricey to say the least; canadian bacon was salty, gravy had little flavor; love the area, though, but will not go back; not meant to be overly critical, just an observation.

This is one of the best places for breakfast in Southern California. That's a bold statement but I take everything into account. The atmosphere can't be beat. It gets very crowded on the weekends (especially in the back and patio). A lot of people overlook the front entrance to a small dining area with traditional diner stools at a bar. The location is pretty close to the coast so eating in the patio area is my favorite (during the week you can easily find a table). Early seems to be better. People here seem to like breakfast closer to 9:30 or 1000. The service is excellent. The wait staff is very friendly and will make you feel at home. They keep the coffee refills coming. The food is very good and the portions are plentiful.

I grew up eating at the Diner and watched it expand many times. We moved away 15 years ago but crave their food every weekend and we make sure whenever we are in town we stop there and have the vegetarian omelette. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the staff makes you feel like a regular even if you aren't!

All I have to say is Steak Tips and Eggs!! I lived in PV for a few years and my husband and I went all the time. We now live in Spokane WA, and yearn for the Pacific Diner. We are going back to visit in a few days and it's like all we can think about!!

I'm new to the South bay area and was recommended to this little diner. What a crowd! Follow your nose and stomach to the Pacific Diner! Their omeletts are unique and delicious. Big portions too. I love these family run hole in the walls. Here's a tip. If you're in a hurry and don't want to fight the crowds in the back patio, try eating at the counter in the front of the restaurant.

The Pacific Diner has been a family favorite for years. We have searched many restaurants for comparable biscuits and gravy but have not found any that can compete! The Guacamole omlette is heavenly and so is the Chicken Cutlet. We now live in the bay area and make a point to visit "the Diner" whenever we visit the area. Forget about lunch after one of their omlettes - you'll be good until dinner.

Open only for breakfast and lunch. Big portions, patio dining. Always crowded... construction workers and long shoreeman during the week, day sailors and families on the weekends.
Don't miss the chile verde omelet with pico de gallo.
