Cookie-Crisp: Oatmeal Cookie
From: Ralston
This cereal was described on it's very first cereal box as a "sweetened cereal" with "artificial oatmeal cookie flavor" that was "fortified with 8 essential vitamins & iron." Known premiums: Free Jumping Jarvis toy inside the box and a Free CB String Communicator inside the box. Company Description: Ralston was originally part of The Ralston-Purina Company which was formed in 1902. The name Ralston stems from a minor social movement in the late 19th Century called Ralstonism - created by Webster Edgerly. Followers of the movement (about 800,000) followed the motto "Regime, Activity, Light, Strength, Temperation, Oxygen and Nature" - the first letters of which spelled out "Ralston"... Oatmeal Cookie Crisp was my absolute favorite cereal! I too wish that they'd bring it back! Comment submitted: 8/11/2012 (#8796) By meowadoodle2010 (Team Breakfast Member)OMG! Oatmeal Cookie Crisp was the best! Bring it back! Comment submitted: 7/5/2012 (#8320) By Erik
This cereal was introduced about 1978? After the success of Vanilla and Chocolate chip... It was discontinued not very long after it was released, but I remember it's taste was lightly ginger-bready, but with a slight maple oatmeal punch. It was an excellent (tho short-lived) addition to the Cookie Crisp pantheon, and I've wanted that taste back for years!! Comment submitted: 2/6/2011 (#3835) By tleecar
