Product 19
From: Kellogg's
Introduced in 1966

Product 19 is made up of lightly sweetened flakes made of corn, oats, wheat, and rice. It was developed by Kellogg's to compete with General Mill's Total cereal.

The name "Product 19" is derived from the fact that this cereal was the 19th product that Kellogg's began developing in 1966.

When the cereal was first introduced, it was described as "Instant Nutrition - New cereal food created especially for working mothers, otherwise busy mothers and everybody in a hurry."

Company Description: Kellogg's was originally founded as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company in 1906. The company's founder Will Keith Kellogg is credited with inventing corn flakes along with his brother John Harvey Kellogg. The company was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922... Totally awesome cereal, been my favorite for 45 years. Can't understand why they discontinued it and keep flooding the shelves with every variety of Special K. I agree with 19 king, who's the clown at Kellogg's that decided to discontinue it?

Who was the 'genius' at Kellogg's that discontinued Product 19? I want the name of this person. I have been eating it for 50 years. Best ever. Kellogg's obviously doesn't care what their customers think or want.

Why do they make so many different flavors of Special K trying to push that garbage. They need to make what has sold for 49 years - Product 19! Market it... change the name and packaging... do something. For cripes sake, they still make Quisp! How many idiots still eat that?

I used to eat this with my grandfather when I was a kid. So sorry to see it go to the big breakfast table in the sky. :(

I agree with the highest ratings and can't understand why a company would stop producing a popular, highly rated product, especially compared with some of the poorer products they focus on.

Product 19 is about the only cereal we will buy. If it isn't available we try to get one that is as close to the same as possible. The flakes have a nice taste and they stay crisp in milk longer than other flakes.

One of my favorite adult cereals - not loaded with sugar or crazy flavors. I've loved this since I was a child. Taste and texture keep me coming back, if I can find it.
