Introduced in 2009


This cereal was described on the box as being comprised of "granola, lightly crunchy nuggets, cranberries, almonds and a touch of vanilla flavor."

It was later called Cranberry Vanilla Trail Mix Crunch with the Grape-Nuts branding being dropped from the front of the box. The cereal faded from the market around 2011.

But then... In January of 2018, Post introduced a new version of Cranberry Vanilla Grape-Nuts Trail Mix Crunch. By my account, the cereal is essentially the same except that the original version had visible slivers of almond in the mix. The new version has almonds in the ingredient list, but they are not visible.

When contacted as to if the 2009 and 2018 versions of the cereals were the same, Post responded that the cereals have the "same flavor profile with similar ingredients."

The 2018 version of cereal describes itself as "Grape-Nuts cereal, granola, cranberries, puffed barley & a touch of natural vanilla flavor."





The back of the 2018 box described the "high-quality ingredients" as so:

"Cranberries: A sweet-tart flavor to liven up your taste buds and conquer the day.

"Grape-Nuts Cereal: Fuel up with this unique and crunchy cereal that is power-packed with whole grain.

"Puffed Barley: Grains that are small, light, and dare we say airy, are perfect for soaking up cold milk.

"Granola: Filled with scoops of delectable clusters for an energy-filled start.

"Vanilla: A touch of natural vanilla flavor gives this cereal a delicious taste."

The ingredients listed on the nutritional panel of the 2018 cereal are Grape-Nuts cereal, whole grain rolled oats, sugar, dried cranberries, protein crisps, wheat gluten, canola oil, whole grain puffed barley, honey, natural flavor, salt, almonds and coconut.

This was a great cereal. But, can no longer find it in stores. Companies need to stop shifting all over the place and changing constantly.
