Don't get the batter too thick. With hot pan, roll the pan so as to spread the batter. Serve with lemon juice and sugar, but not too much of either.

I've made this three times now! I'm finally getting perfect crepes each time. The trick is to tilt and turn the pan as you add the batter. I start with a 1/4 cup measuring cup, but usually only use about 3/4 of that. Stop adding batter when the bottom is coated and the crepes turn out each time. The amount of batter really depends on the size of your pan.

I haven't tried this recipe yet but I'm planning to for dessert. I like how this recipe specifically tells everything you need to do, instead of "Put on stove and cook." This recipe is much more specific. I'm going to try topping the crepe with chocolate ice cream. Maybe some pieces of fruit inside...

Great recipe but I think this should call for 1/6 or a pinch of salt. 1/4 teaspoon just made the crepe a tiny bit salty.

I butchered the first one. But once I got in my groove and made the crepes really thin, it turned out to be a good recipe. The trick is to use very little batter and swirl it around in the pan as you're adding it.

Finally got it! I blew the first 4 I made. They were shaped funny - flatter on one side than the other. I finally started making them right when I'd tilt the pan in a circular motion as I was pouring in the batter. Took some practice, but they turned out great. Thanks!

Nutella and banana slices are the very best filling for these crepes. A store near us called World Plus Market sells a hazelnut spread that's just as good as nutella, but a little cheaper so we used that this time. They were fantastic. I ate 5 crepes!

GREAT CREPES! The trick is to beat the eggs into the milk-water mixture and then add it to the flour while you are beating it into a smooth batter without lumps! I also added some vanilla and a few pinches of sugar to give them some zzzing!

The recipe, as far as the ingredients went, was great. The instructions, however, I found perfectly miserable. I've made crepes before, and I usually just throw all the ingredients in at once and blend until smooth. It works great. This time, for some reason, I decided to actually follow directions. Mixing the flour and egg together gave first me a gluey lump, and no matter how long I beat it with my hand mixer afterwards, I couldn't get it smooth. So we had lumpy crepes this morning. But they still tasted good =)

I spread mine with nutella and put a line of whipped cream down the side and then roll them up.

That's how I had them with my homestay family when I went to France, and that will always be my number 1 dessert crepe choice :P

I also agree that most people don't realize that the crepe itself is not especially delicious, but what you put inside it. Not to say that you can use any old crepe, of course. The right recipe makes all the difference.

Try frying some bacon 'til cripsy, the slicing bananas in hald lengthwise and frying them in the bacon fat. Place these on the cooked crepes, pour over maple syrup, and roll them up. Some people like to squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over theirs.

Great basic recipe to ad to... or not, if you like it simple. I recommend sifting your flour before you start, as well as sifting your batter AFTER you mix wet ingredients, after you strain the second time, you add your banana or whatever.. this way.. you insure that they are smooth, and any little pebbles or anything foreign will be strained out as well as 'chunks' of flour that give the batter an uneven texture... MAKE SURE YOU USE A VEGETABLE OIL AEROSOL SPRAY to coat the bottom of the pan with as well... AND LEARN TO Wrist flip the whole thing upside-down!

I was watching a food network and it said to make crepes and put Nutella in them put bananas in, then fold them up, then sprinkle icing sugar on them..it tastes really good. I used the crepes recipe above..it was pretty good.. a tad bit dry though... but overall... good = )

I once tried a crepe somewhere at a French restaurant and it was filled with hot fudge with ice-cream in the middle and whipped cream

Now I'm about to make some!

Thank you! I love making crepes, but they always turn out to be too thick even when I spread it out in circular motion to make it thinner...

This is a great starting point for your own creativity. I've done these plain (as directed), and with some sugar and chocolate syrup mixed into the batter (kids love them)! They come out great, others have mentioned adding various ingredients, I'd suggest you give it a shot after getting the basic process down.

Thanks so much for this recipe!

I think they are great!

People don't know that crepes are meant to taste this way... too much sugar in prepacked kind of food and pancake mixes. It's what you add that makes them. I'm simple... I like honey. But then again, bananna and vanilla icecream would make a nice desert!
